Jack Porus BCom LLB
Pinnacle’s chairman, Jack Porus, is the Joint Managing Partner of Glaister Ennor, one of Auckland’s oldest and most respected law firms. Jack also has several directorships including The Neil Group Limited and The NZ King Salmon Co Limited. Jack has been appointed a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.
Jack also chairs the Auckland Grammar School Foundation Trust Board and is a director of The Rotary Club of Auckland Trustee Company Limited.
Noel Vaughan FIA FIAA FNZSA
Noel is the founder of Pinnacle and was the Managing Director of Pinnacle Life until 1 December 2014 when he retired. Noel remains on the Board of Pinnacle Life as a Director. He has 50 years of experience in the life insurance industry, including 25 years with National Mutual both in New Zealand and abroad, as Sales and Marketing and then General Manager for NZI Life based in Auckland.
In the past, Noel has been president of the NZ Society of Actuaries and Chairman of the Life Offices Association. He has been involved in building businesses, takeovers and mergers both as a consultant on strategy and actuarial issues, and as a senior manager, and brings this wide technical and management experience base to the Board.
Andrew Spencer BCom, CA
As Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee, and Director of the Board, Andrew is a certified public practising chartered accountant with offices in Auckland and Queenstown. Andrew holds several professional director/chair positions with large unlisted business enterprises, and is a trustee and adviser to high net worth and private family trusts, both locally and for international investors.
Michael Murphy MA
During a career spanning over 30 years, Michael has undertaken a range of entrepreneurial, management and Board roles. He started his career as a consultant in several global consulting firms and then moved on to start his own company, drive its rapid growth and exit to one of the world’s top 5 IT companies.
In Michael’s various roles he has built and managed several high performing businesses and teams across sales, operations, and solution delivery. In the last few years, he has set-up and run several innovation programs both in the commercial and public sectors.
Michael has advised and invested in start-up and early-stage businesses, as well as undertaken advisory and governance roles on the Boards of innovative, early stage and more mature businesses.
During his career Michael has worked for small, mid-sized and large organizations and has worked with customers across numerous industries and organizational sizes.
Brenard Grobler B Com
Brenard leads Australian based insurance distribution and administration company Greenstone Pty Ltd. He joined Greenstone in 2008 following more than 19 years of senior management experience specific to insurance distribution. Prior to joining Greenstone, Brenard spent nine years in senior management roles at Standard Bank, one of South Africa’s largest financial services groups. He also gained significant industry experience working for Old Mutual, an international investment, savings, insurance and banking group. Brenard also spent seven years as the Chief Accountant for the Meat Board in South Africa.
Graeme Booth B Com, CA
Graeme is the CFO of Greenstone Pty Ltd. He is a Chartered Accountant with a broad range of international finance and commercial experience garnered over 25 years. Graeme’s previous roles in Australia have included Managing Director of an ASX listed entity and Global CFO of a resource company with producing mines in the USA. Prior to that Graeme had 14 years of senior investment banking experience with Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), ABN Amro and Credit Suisse in London and Hong Kong.
