Pinnacle Life aspires to be the leading online life insurer in New Zealand. In 1998, when we started, we were the first to offer New Zealanders the option to buy Life Insurance directly from a Life Insurance company, no brokers. This was a novel idea at the time!
Today Pinnacle Life still aspires to stand out from the competition and to be the best at what we do. We’ve been doing online Life Insurance longer than anyone else (in the world!) and we believe we’re pretty good at it. We also believe that we understand what Kiwis want, because we’re Kiwis too. We are still a Kiwi owned and operated company, just like we were in 1998.
Pinnacle Life was started because Noel Vaughan believed that New Zealanders should be able to easily buy the life insurance they want for themselves. This is what continues to drive Pinnacle today, making Life Insurance accessible, easy to understand and affordable. Because we are an online company, it costs us less to run our business, so we make sure we pass these benefits onto our customers by way of lower premiums.
We continue to invest in cutting edge technology and design, so that we can deliver the best. Over the years we are proud to have won a number of international awards for design and innovation.
You can find us in Newmarket, Auckland. We hold an insurance licence from the Reserve Bank of NZ issued under the Insurance (Prudential Supervision) Act 2010. We are a member of the Financial Services Council (FSC), and are also a Qualifying Financial Entity (QFE).
